Lauki and Green Papaya

 

Lauki is full of soma and papaya is full of enzymes.

1/2 cup of Lauki peeled and cut into one inch pieces

1/4 cup Green Papaya, peeled, seeded, and cut into one-inch pieces

1 teaspoon of ghee

1 teaspoon  of mum’s masala or 1/8 teaspoon each of ground coriander, cumin, fennel, and turmeric

soma salt to taste

lime juice taste.

1/2 cup water

Place lauki and papaya in a pot of the water and bring to boil, bring to medium  low heat, and cover. Cook for about 12 to 15 minutes or until both are mushy texture.  While cooking add the spices. Take off stove and add ghee and salt.  Pour over basmati rice.  Lauki cools the heat of liver and papaya aids in digestion.  The papaya will be hard and green, it’s supposed to be cooked unripe.  You can find both in Asian Grocery Stores. This is an excellent dish to add to your Detox and Rejuvenation Day.  It’s difficult to find any of these organic.  So trust your body if it wants to have it.
